Die design - In the European market, pancake dies have so far only found a permanent place, at the expense of spiral mandrel dies, in specialty applications, such as 8- and 9-layer film. One reason for this is that the high melt pressure causes bending of the dies. The Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) has developed and verified a program for simulating such bending. |
