The H10 was characterized by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry. The properties of the WHPUDs with different content of succinic anhydride and TDI–HPA have been investigated by measuring the stability, the particle size, and the rheological behavior. The effects of the content of succinic anhydride and TDI–HPA were studied in terms of UV-curing rate, water resistance, and thermogravimetric behaviors of WHPUD coatings. The WHPUDs showed good appearance, particle size, viscosity, and storage stability. The WHPUD films showed superior photosensitivity and the percent conversion of C=C bonds reached about 80% when the radiation time was 50 s. Moreover, the UV-cured films had good water resistance and thermostability, which can benefit a waterborne polyurethane resin for waterborne coatings. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Matérials

Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this article, two kinds of phosphorus-containing cardanol-based acrylates were designed and synthesized. Firstly, a pre-polymer (PT-HCE) with three arms was synthesized using hydroxyethyl cardanol ether (HCE) and phosphorus oxychloride (POCl3) as raw materials. Then, the PT-HCE was acrylated to synthesize phosphate tris-hydroxyethyl cardanol epoxy acrylate resin (AEPT-HCE) and phosphate tris-hydroxyethyl cardanol photosensitive resin (APT-HCE). The structures of PT-HCE, AEPT-HCE and APT-HCE were characterized and the results showed that the photosensitive resins were successfully synthesized. In addition, AEPT-HCE and APT-HCE were used to prepare the flame-retardant UV/EB curing coatings. The properties of the coatings were tested, and the results revealed that different structures have a certain effect on Tg and tensile properties of the coatings. The cured films demonstrated excellent flame-retardant properties, showing flammability rating of V-0 in UL-94 test. ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A series of formaldehyde-free melamine-methylglyoxal resins has been produced at various mole ratios of reactants. The methylglyoxal to melamine mole ratio (MG/M) was varied from 3 to 6 and the sodium metabisulfite to melamine mole ratio (SMB/M) was varied from 0.05 to 0.2. Viscosity trend of resins within the series was examined. The prepared resins were used as retanning agents and their improved mechanical and organoleptic properties were noticed in comparison with a commercial melamine-formaldehyde resin. The morphology of grain surface and fibre structure of the leathers was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Thermal stability of the optimal resin was assessed and observed to show an improvement over the commercial melamine-formaldehyde resin. Molecular weight and FTIR study of optimal resin was also pursued. Determination of free formaldehyde confirmed that the resulting leather was free from formaldehyde. A pollution load study of retanning effluent showed a significant reduction in chemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids and total dissolved solids for the optimal resin reflecting its improved exhaustion due to optimised molecular size and ability to undergo in situ polymerisation in collagen fibres. The results have shown that the melamine resins of this novel work are suitable for producing formaldehyde-free leather with improved retanning properties and reduced pollution load of the wastewater. Methylglyoxal has been proved as a successful alternate of formaldehyde in resin synthesis to control air emissions and carcinogenic effects while producing sustainable leather. ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : Amino resins used in the leather retanning process are condensation products of formaldehyde which makes such resins objectionable due to environmental hazards. Due to the carcinogenic effects of formaldehyde, there is a growing demand to produce formaldehyde-free leather. This work involves the synthesis of formaldehyde free melamine resins for producing environment friendly leather with improved retanning properties and thermal stability. A series of resins was produced by condensation of glyoxal and melamine at varied mole ratios. Stability and water solubility was achieved by sulfonation with aniline 2,5 disulfonic acid at varied degrees of sulfonation. Resins were evaluated to measure the viscosity trends in series.
Synthesised resins were studied for their comparative retanning properties in comparison with a commercial melamine resin as control. Mechanical properties like tensile strengths tear strengths, and elongation at break were measured and found to be improved. Similarly, the organoleptic properties were also evaluated and found to be better than for the control. Retanned pieces of leather were examined by SEM and tested for free formaldehyde content. The optimal resin was subjected to analysis by FTIR, TGA and molecular weight determination. Effluents collected from retanning baths were tested for pollution load efficiency. The results of the study confirmed that the prepared resins were supportive in producing formaldehyde-free leather with improved mechanical and organoleptic properties. The thermal stability of the resulting resins and pollution load efficiency was also found to be improved.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE : Chemicals and apparatus - Preparation of aniline 2,5 disulfonic acid modified melamine glyoxal resins

Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this work, tris(oxiran-2-ylmethyl) benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate (TOTC) was synthesized by a new two-step method without using harmful epichlorohydrin and served as a curing agent for polyester powder coatings. The chemical structure of TOTC was determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The curing behavior and the curing reaction kinetics of TOTC/polyester resin (NH-3307) system were studied by dynamic differential scanning calorimetry. The activation energy Ea was 71.75 kJ mol-1 according to Flynn–Wall–Ozawa method, and the curing reaction of TOTC/NH-3307 system was described by Friedman method. It was found that the curing reaction of TOTC/NH-3307 system was a two-parameter autocatalysis which followed the Å estάk–Berggren model. The nonisothermal curing reaction rate was simulated according to the Å estάk–Berggren model and the experimentally parameters. What is more, the thermogravimetric analysis results showed that the TOTC/NH-3307 system had good thermal stability with an initial decomposition temperature of 374.92°C. The TOTC/NH-3307 cured film exhibited excellent leveling performance by SEM. The results demonstrated that TOTC has efficient curing ability and huge market potential.
