Laser sintering - A new computer program has made it possible to achieve a stunning chair design that reconciles artistic aspirations with defined mechanical stability criteria. The program analyses the loading points and derives evolutionary part structures from these. Although the plastic chair produced in a laser sintering unit is lightweight, it displays an elevated mechanical strength in areas that are subject to high stressing. |
