VernisIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Depending on the industry, applications exist for all types of conformal coating materials. However, one family of conformal coatings can do something that no other coating can: it can conformally encapsulate with 100% protection, regardless of the size or intricacy of the assembly, device or component (even at micron and submicron thickness levels). No bridging of openings, voids or pooling; just a uniform, microscopic coating that acts as a shield against almost anything that various environments can throw at it. Résistance thermiqueIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Radiation curable elastomers offer new opportunities for hot-melt producers to extend their product grade range towards the high performance pressure sensitive adhesives. Kraton D-KX222C is a radiation curable styrenic block copolymer designed to be highly reactive even in the presence of air. Although it quickly crosslinks when submitted to the UV light, it can be safely processed in hot melt when the appropriate antioxidant package is used. It is known that UV irradiation has to be carefully controlled to ensure the production of optimal and consistent adhesives. However, adhesives based on the radiation curable elastomer offer robust systems less prone to adhesion change upon curing than other competitive materials.
The polymer 222 is the polymer of choice for high performing industrial tapes. It can be processed similar to any conventional hot melt without contaminating the hot-melt line and it obeys the same formulation principles as other styrenic block copolymers. It therefore combines the desirable adhesion char-acteristics of rubber-based adhesives such as adhesion on a wide variety of substrates and can be formulated into an extensive range of products with very different properties. Tt is possible to obtain peel adhesion values of 27 N/25mm or a RBT below 5cm, with a SAFT above 160 degrees C. This makes the polymer particularly attractive for the automotive industry, which often requires adhesives with high tack and temperature resistance around 140 degrees C.Note de contenu : - Table 1 : Thermal stability of radiation curable SBC

Revêtements -- Propriétés mécaniques:Peinture -- Propriétés mécaniquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Spacecraft operate in a harsh environment that inflicts severe thermal and mechanical stresses to the vehicle. The challenge in developing paint systems for spacecraft is to achieve resistance to these environmental conditions besides fulfilling specific functions such as thermal control, insulation, conductivity, etc.
This paper discusses the requirements that spacecraft paints and coatings must fulfill and it also lists some of the paints that find use in space research.Note de contenu : - Requirements for spacecraft coatings
