Nanometal cladding - A nanocrystalline layer of metal over a molded plastic part – such is the structure of newly developed nanometal/polymer hybrids. Furthermore, since the highstrength metal layer is on the outside where the highest tensile and torsional stress occur, it exerts an optimal effect on the strength of the molded part. The first applications are likely to be found in automobiles, consumer electronics and sports equipment. |
