Revêtements poudre:Peinture poudreIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Two different applications of ultrafine titanium dioxide are presented. First, the pearlescent-like effect resulting from its combination with aluminium pigments is examined. Goniophotometric measurements in basecoat/clearcoat systems were performed, thus quantifying the color flip-flop or travel observed when the viewing angle is changed. This coloristic effect was investigated as function of the milling time in the dispersion of a pigment mill base and also the pigment concentration. The second case is related to the ability of ultrafine titanium dioxide to absorb ultraviolet rays without considerable color deviation due to its weak tinting power. Although it has shown some potential in clear coats or wood varnishes, no improvement has been observed in one-coat enamels even for high pigment loading. Pearl offers a soft natural glow as it both absorbs and reflects natural light. Pearl comes in a beautiful palette of whites and neutrals. By adding a simple smalI effect like a shimmer to feature wall in a room can really make a massive difference to the overalI space. They have good compatibility with a variety of pigment dispersions to produce thousands of shades." Note de contenu : - What is happening inside

Pigments nacrésIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The number of effect pigments appearing, is on increase since various companies are developing innovative ways of generating eye-catching effects. Pearl luster pigments, as one of the category of special effect pigments have become a standard tool for stylists in paints, inks, plastics & cosmetics. A new class of treated aluminum pigments with a coloured appearance has opened the ways to new styling effects, especially when used with transparent pigments. Fine particle TiO2 has also found a place as effect pigments because of its ability to impart novel optical effect to metallic finish. This article is a compilation of some technologies that creates the modern dazzling effects pigments. Note de contenu : - Pearl lustre pigments - History
