Flexible, hard and tough coating materials are formulated with polyurethane raw materials for application in many different market segments. This article covers the application of the polyurethane technology for floor coatings in various segments like industrial floors, Car Parking Decks, Sports floors, decorative floors. It also presents the application procedure, recommended number of layers, formulating a PU flooring system & the results based on intensive lab evaluations for the comparison of the Epoxy flooring with PU flooring in order to meet different performances. The life cycle cost analysis for the systems has also been discussed. The real life cases are analysed in this article as well. Transition vitreuseIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : For the first time ever, polyurethane (PU) prepregs suitable for storage can be both produced and processed on an industrial scale. These materials offer a cost-effective alternative to epoxy prepregs as they deliver components with comparable mechanical properties at significantly lower production costs. Note de contenu : - Two-stage curing reaction with polyurethane
- Faster reaction, shorter cycle times
- Higher glass transition temperatue makes annealing unnecessary
- Practical example - leaf springs with 25% lower manufacturing costs
- Potential for SMC
- FIGURES : 1. The injection box developed for the new polyurethane casting resin system enables reproducible, controlled reinforcing fibre impregnation without air bubbles - 2. The new polyurethane casting resin system has significantly lower exothermic reaction than corresponding epoxy systems - 3. Système de pulvérisation (technologie)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : New and impressive technology - A powder primer and a top coat or a single-layer powder coating ? Or perhaps a two-sided preliminary coating and a subsequent automatic finish ? A specialist coating compagny in Austria no longer has to worry about these different options, because its two new powder coating lines are flexible enough to process all types of materials and components.
