To meet this goal, it is necessary to know how additives effect the stability and compatibility of pigment pastes in paint formulations. With this knowledge negative effects can be minimized. Especially the airless spray application causes microfoam and its elimination sets high requirements for paint suppliers, manufactures and raw material suppliers. The article will discuss the parameters influencing the activity of dearetors against microfoam in water-based coating. It is explained and demonstrated how the specific composition of deaerators makes it possible to eliminate and prevent microfoam especially in airless applied coatings-without negative influence on optical appearance or physical film properties. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Interesterification of castor oil and linseed oil was carried out at near ambient temperature by using lipase as a catalyst as against at higher temperatures (220 °-230 °C) employed in chemically catalyzed interesterification reactions. The resultant interesterification product that formed was reacted with toluene di-isocyanate to form polyurethanes. Polyurethanes synthesized by this method were light in color compared to the conventional ones. A significant improvement in the hardness, adhesion, impact resistance, chemical resistance and color was achieved over that of the commercially available polyurethanes when the lipase was used in the first step of the synthesis of the polyurethanes. In this study, chromium (VI) tannates with several metal contents in their composition were used as inhibitive pigments in anticorrosive paints. The mentioned metallic tannates were prepared at laboratory scale under controlled operative conditions. Some properties of chromium tannates as well as the protective efficiency of anticorrosive paints formulated with the quoted inhibitors were assessed in laboratory tests.
