Revêtements protecteursIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Given any of the variety of adhesive and sealant products on the market, many ASI readers could probably determine the specific VOC rule and level that would apply. Generally speaking, we know that the substrate, application method, packaging and intended market segment all play into the specific category and level that an adhesive or sealant must meet.
Some coating and membrane products, however, can be difficult to place into the right category. As the examples below illustrate, some products that are considered to be coatings may not even lie within the architectural coatings rule, but may instead cross over to adhesives and sealants rules—or even others.En ligne : http://www.adhesivesmag.com/articles/91700-regulatory-review-categorical-conside [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Web Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=17931

Simulation, Méthode deIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Industrial adhesives and sealants have to withstand harsh conditions such as pronounced temperature fluctuations, reactions to humidity and different levels of viscosity. In the automotive engineering, aerospace and electronics industries in particular, adhesives and sealants with two or more components are therefore often used precisely because of their superior resilience. Such substances require special mixing, dosing and dispensing systems. The biggest challenge is to achieve reliable and, above all, reproducible mixing outcomes. Note de contenu : - CFD revolutionizes mixing systems for reproducible results
- Getting A and B in the right place at the right time
- Passing the test on internal use

ViscositéIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Effectively formulating a latex adhesive requires knowledge of the material’s rheological response during normal use. In storage, the adhesive is subject only to gravitational force, a very low-stress condition. During application, however, high shear rates are applied. To meet performance targets, formulators tailor the adhesive’s viscosity profile (how viscosity changes with shear) by varying particle size, size distribution or solids loading. An optimal profile delivers a stable product with excellent transfer properties. This article considers three complementary analytical techniques that provide the information needed for optimal performance : dynamic light scattering, zeta potential and rotational rheometry. Note de contenu : - Defining optimal performance
- Factors that influence adhesive behavior : High shear viscosity - Solids loading - Zeta potential - Particle size distribution
- Case study : characterizing the performance of three adhesives
