A multicriteria statistical optimization method can be used in the case where material properties are estimated as the function of several parameters. The present experiments were realized according to a factorial design of 23 . The relative humidity during conditioning the leather samples and the rate of tensile elongation were taken as independent variables. It was possible to establish the utility values just by determining a set of coefficients which will decide on a leather’s usefulness in a specific application and to assign to them their relative importance as well as the range of satisfactory values.
