Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The plasminogen (Plg) activation system plays a role in the process leading to dry skin with impaired barrier function, and serine protease inhibitors are known to improve dry skin. In this study, we have discovered that a urokinase-type Plg activator (UK), a trigger of the Plg activation system, which was previously believed to work within the epidermis, also exists in stratum corneum (SC). Focusing on the UK reaction in SC, we sought to develop a method of dry skin prevention. First, the removal of UK by adsorption with inorganic powders was investigated. Screening of powders, revealed that silicia and talc afforded superior UK adsorption. Futhermore, zinc oxide showed superior UK inhibition. The combination of these two different powders enabled us to develop the composite powder, "Skin Care Powder" (SCP), which has an excellent performance in both UK adsorption and UK inhibition. The daily application of a powdery foundation containing SCP for 2 months resulted in a significant suppression of increased transepidermal water loss and a better texture compared to the control. Our results demonstrated that certain inorganic powders can bring significant biological benefit to the skin, whilst remaining on the skin surface. Simulation par ordinateurIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : An innovative hybrid powder prepared using computer simulation allowed development of a new foundation having a fine, smooth texture that has never been achieved before. The optical structure/design of the powder was based on the results of measurements and analyses conducted on the optical characteristics of a baby's delicate skin, which is the envy of many women. To obtain the optimal optical characteristics, the finite differential time domain (FDTD) method for solving Maxwell's differential equation by difference and time domain was applied to the computer simulation method. For synthesis of the hybrid powder based on the optical model, a proprietary shape regulation coating technology was used in which flaky substrates were coated with microspherical forms of barium sulfate crystals. The hybrid powder developed exhibited optical characteristics that showed a significant diffusion characteristic in the visible light region. The foundation containing this powder could conceal pores, small wrinkles, freckles, and age spots and owing to its microscopic reflection characteristics provided a fine, smooth texture that has never before been available with a conventional foundation. Although conventional skincare cosmetics exist that can prevent sagging, no makeup cosmetics that can correct the appearance of sagging have been developed. The vital factors for an optical rejuvenating makeup were found to be recovery of the skin tension and lightening of the face shadow appearing on sagging skin. Therefore, a hybrid powder consisting of platy barium sulphate on the surface of titanium dioxide-coated mica having red interference light was developed. Results of a panel test showed that almost all panelists noticed the rejuvenating effect of the foundation containing the powder. Image analysis showed that the foundation finish made the face look 12 years younger than the face with no makeup. As the mechanism of the optical rejuvenation, regular reflection of the red interference light from the hybrid powder can give the natural-fresh impression observed for a very young skin, and diffuse reflection of the white light can irradiate the shadow. The development of this innovative shape-controlled hybrid powder offers a new technique for making anti-aging cosmetics. Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Maquillage de thérapie' Vitiligo 'Qualité vie' Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : In collaboration with medical institutions, we have been providing makeup guidance to people with facial skin color problems under the name »therapy makeup«. The aim of therapy makeup is to reduce the anxiety and tension associated with the appearance of people with skin color problems and to provide psychological support, thereby helping them live more normal lives. Ota's nevus (blue birthmarks) and port-wine stain (red birthmarks) the leading causes of abnormal skin coloration. We have already developed covering foundations for Ota's nevus and port-wine stain using a light-filtering technology. Another common cause of abnormal skin coloration is vitiligo (white patches). Vitiligo cannot be adequately covered by conventional cosmetic foundations. Therefore, we developed a new covering foundation for vitiligo based on optical characteristics. Moreover, the effects of makeup on the psychology of patients with vitiligo were objectively evaluated using psychometrically established quality of life indices. It was demonstrated that makeup helped to alleviate the psychological anxiety and tension of patients, resulting in improvement of social relationships and self-esteem.
The integration of medical care and beauty care enables therapy makeup to improve quality of life of patients with skin color disorders.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10384
