Seven new radiation-curable resins have been developed specifically for this market, offering low odour and migration levels. In addition, a faster test to determine the levels of acrylates extractable from a coating has been developed. Note de contenu : - Some principles of radiation curing
- Ingredients of food packaging inks are restricted
- Migration of inks on packaging occurs in several ways
- Migration testing methods outlined
- New acrylate test protocol gives faster results
- Low extractable/low odour resins developed
- New resins evaluated on standard packaging materialsEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hPtBeJakgju0lVM67C7DaVGX4bkfu2kk/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=11069

Surfaces -- NettoyageIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : With the increasing use of tactile touch interface and high gloss finish surfaces in various market sectors, including packaging, automotive, appliances, consumer goods and teletronics, the need for an easy-to-clean (E2C) surface property is growing and posing a challenge to designers and coating formulators. As a consequence, investigation of these new functional surfaces has gained increasing interest in technical and scientific literature. Yet, the most effective solutions currently available are quite costly and, consequently, only used in high value components such as touch screen displays.
To overcome this high cost barrier, Cytec introduced its latest development for energy curable coatings, namely Ebecryl 8110 resin for consumer electronics components such as casings etc. This novel and patent-pending UV resin enables paint formulators to develop coatings that meet the overall coating performance requirement (hardness, adhesion, chemical resistance) as well as permanent easy fingerprint removal/easy-to-clean surface property.Note de contenu : - Effect of composition
- Effect of application conditions on E2C performance
- Robustness of the E2C property and benchmarking

Unfortunately, these additives can leach out, reducing the efficacy of the coating over time. Vernis en phase aqueuse -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : As demand rises to improve the outdoor durability of waterborne coatings, as well as enhance surface effects, Clariant has developed addditives to meet the utmost expectations, as the author discuss.
Clariant's latest renewable-based additives are combining the demand for more natural, sustainable products with state-of-the-art performance compared to standard commercially available products. These additives will enable waterborne coating manufacturers to formulate paints with surface feels from smooth to the pleasant feel of untreated wood, with outstanding scratch resistance, high matting efficiency and improved weathering properties. Water-based coatings are increasingly popular because of their more environmentally friendly aspects compared to solvent-based coatings. To protect waterborne coatings against the adverse effects of outdoor weathering and enhance their surface effects, it is necessary to add UV stabilisers and wax type additives, which must not only be perfectly compatible with the coating resin system but alos hydrophobic. Indeed, if this is not the case, the additives can easily be extracted from the coating solely by humidity (rain or condensation).Note de contenu : - Light stabilisers for waterborne coatings
- Modifying the surface properties of waterborne coatings
