The brittle nature of their matrix, however, makes them more prone to crack development and propagation, leading to prolonged and costly maintenance operations coupled with a strong environmental impact. This research focuses on epoxy/thermoplastic-based healable composites as a durable and sustainable alternative to standard composites, to reduce the maintenance costs due to impact events and fatigue crack propagation. Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Materials and sample preparation - Impact and compression after impact (CAI) - Moisture absorption and short-beam shear (SBS) - Three-point bending fatigue testing
- RESULTS AND DISCUSSION : Mechanical and healing properties after impact damage - Effects of humidity and temperature on mechanical properties - Fatigue and lifetime extension
