Pigmentation, Troubles de laIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : It is well known that an adequate amount and quality of sleep is key to repairing the damage inflicted to the body during the day. However, it is difficult to really enjoy a regularly undisturbed sleep of 7-9 hours per night.
A survey conducted among adults in 13 countries revealed that on average, people sleep 6.8 hours per weeknight and 7.5 hours per weekend night. Hence, the amount of sleep lost during the working week is not compensated over the weekend. Moreover, only 49% of adults are satisfied with their sleep.
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has only worsened our sleep quality. Another recent survey among US adults displayed that 98% have developed new sleep problems, and 68% feel it is harder to sleep even after measures were lifted. An additional survey showed that 60% of adults are interested in strategies to sleep better, what is known as biohacking sleep.Note de contenu : - A new tool to 'biohack' sleep

Régénération (biologie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The cosmetic industry is continuously seeking for innovative and reliable products. For generations, collagen has become one of the most trustworthy ingredients due to its efficacy and its interesting properties: anti-aging, moisturizer, humectant, among others. Substantiated concerns have been raised with regard to quality, safety and consistency of animal-sourced collagen. In this context, it has been developed a plant-based fragment of human type I collagen, which is of high purity and contains the proper post-translational modifications to be completely functional due to the use of wild-plant as biofactories’ technology. This identical-to-human fragment collagen type I has been shown to have broad efficacy in and tests, as well as a potent anti-aging effect in clinical studies. These interesting properties highlights fColI(h) as a highly effective and safer source of collagen in the very near future. Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Munapsys demonstrated action on both pre- and post-synaptic pathways. It competed against Munc18-1 for its binding with syntaxin which is essentiel for the SNARE formation and it reduced the levels of ACh release by the pre-synaptic vesicles in the neuron. It also acted on AChR clustering, muscle membrane depolarization, calcium mobilisation and actomyosin cross-bridge and sliding. Finally, its efficacy as a wrinkle smoother was evaluated against a combination of benchmarks (covering both pathways) and proved to be similar or better at a lower concentration. In addition, Munapsys also presented good results in the lifting of sad smiles.
We conclude that Munapsys could be considered a real upgrade in the botulinum toxin-like ingredients field.Note de contenu : - Munc18-1/Syntaxin-1 binding assay

Inflammation

SommeilIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Regularly skipping sleep is associated with chronic low inflammation, oxidative stress and weakened immune system. These three factors are interconnected and all of them generate further inflammation, oxidative stress and worsen the immune system.
The alarmin interleukin IL-33 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine released upon cell damage activating the immune response and inducing oxidative stress and further inflammation. IL-33 is over-expressed in conditions of chronic inflammation like a topic dermatitis and obstructive sleep apnea.
Sleep disturbance also presents high levels of glucose which may glycate proteins of the skin and the endothelial and lymphatic vessels, weakening their integrity and producing oxidative stress and more inflammation. In addition, melatonin levels are decreased, which not only affects its circadian role but also as a potent antioxidant and antiglycant.
iPeptide™ is a peptide that was discovered to down-regulate IL-33 expression through a Big Data analysis. It showed to modulate chronic inflammation and damages induced by hyperglycemia due to sleep deprivation. It also presented a melatonin-like protection effect and reinforced the first line of immune defense. In vivo, it decreased fatigue features, awakened sleepy lookand had a local cool effect.Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Gene expression modulation of sleep deprivation – Modulation of IL-33 release – Regulating hyperpigmentation – De-stressing capillarity – Reinforcing lymphatic integrity – Melatonin-like protection against glycation and lipid peroxidatione – Melatonin-like modulation of the epidermal immune protection – Guarding from hyperglycemia damage – Anti-fatigue efficacy in sleep deprived volunteers – Refreshing effect in sleep deprived volunteers
