Résumé : |
Automation is one of the major trends that keep the composite industry gorwing. When it comes to specialised applications, modern sensing technology is still behind and lacking compared to a human operator. PolePosition if a flexible camera system developed for the implementation of automation projects in composites manufacturing. |
Note de contenu : |
- A versatile tool enabling affordable automation
- Methods for controlling position and orientation of carbon fibres are complex and expensive
- The challenges of positioning in manufacturing processes
- Making sensors and carbon fibres get along
- Innovative camera system with polarisation significantly simplifies control of fibre orientation
- Working with tailor-made lighting solutions
- Simplifying more advanced tasks
- Fig. 1 : Camera system on cutting and stacking cell
- Fig. 2 :Original picture, degree of linear polarization, binarized picture, angle of mean polarization. While the original picture technically contains all relevant information, the reflections makes it very strenuous for a human to asses. The pictures based on polarization are on different quality level, completely separating the subject from the noisy background and even hghlighting the smallest carbon fibre in the frame. |
