Plasma à pression atmosphériqueUn plasma à pression atmosphérique (ou plasma à PA ou plasma froid) est le nom donné à une catégorie spéciale de plasma pour lequel la pression approche celle de l’atmosphère.
Le plasma à pression atmosphérique marque une nette différence avec le plasma basse et haute pression. En effet, contrairement à ces derniers aucune enceinte de traitement n'est nécessaire. Ce type de plasma peut donc être utilisé directement sur ligne de production, évitant ainsi l'utilisation de vide qui est extrêmement onéreuse.Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In this article, the performance of atmospheric pressure plasma treatment in the desizing of grey cotton denim fabric followed by an enzymatic colour fading process was studied. Four atmospheric pressure plasma processing parameters, namely, treatment time, ignition power, reactive gas (oxygen) concentration and jet distance were considered for desizing. In order to investigate the optimum conditions (based on weight change) for atmospheric pressure plasma treatment, an orthogonal array testing strategy was used. The optimum conditions for atmospheric pressure plasma treatment in this study were: treatment time, 5 s/mm; ignition power, 160 W; oxygen concentration, 1%; and jet distance, 3 mm. The level of importance of atmospheric pressure plasma processing parameters based on the orthogonal array testing strategy analysis was in the order: jet distance > ignition power > oxygen concentration > treatment time, and the effect of each processing factor is also discussed. In addition, the desizing effect induced by atmospheric pressure plasma treatment was compared with conventional enzyme desizing treatment. The resultant performance properties were also compared. After conducting desizing with atmospheric pressure plasma treatment, the cotton denim fabric was subjected to an enzymatic colour fading process. The colour fading effect was found to be more significant when compared with the conventional enzymatic colour fading process. The pretreated linen fabrics were dyed using a bifunctional reactive dye at various concentrations. The effect of enzyme treatment, together with the dyeing process on the low-stress mechanical properties of the linen fabric, was then investigated. The low-stress mechanical properties were assessed quantitatively, including the tensile, shearing, bending, compression and surface properties of the enzyme-treated and dyed linen fabrics. The results revealed that the enzyme treatment with subsequent dyeing could alter these properties to a greater extent, depending predominantly on the concentration of enzyme used. CotonLe coton est une fibre végétale qui entoure les graines des cotonniers "véritables"(Gossypium sp.), un arbuste de la famille des Malvacées. Cette fibre est généralement transformée en fil qui est tissé pour fabriquer des tissus. Le coton est la plus importante des fibres naturelles produites dans le monde. Depuis le XIXe siècle, il constitue, grâce aux progrès de l'industrialisation et de l'agronomie, la première fibre textile du monde (près de la moitié de la consommation mondiale de fibres textiles).

TricotIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In this study, 100% cotton knitted fabrics made from combed cotton and combed pima cotton were dyed with reactive dye, with different dye concentrations. Colour properties such as CIE L*a*b* values as well as dyeing uniformity of the dyed fabrics were measured. The relationships between colour properties and the ultraviolet protection afforded by cotton knitted fabrics were investigated. Experimental results revealed that dye concentration is the most important factor. In addition, only L* values have a direct mathematical relationship with the ultraviolet protection factor; a* and b* values and dyeing uniformity were not found to have a significant correlation with ultraviolet protection factor values. Meanwhile, knitted fabric made from combed cotton fibre has better ultraviolet protection performance than fabric made from combed pima cotton fibre. In this study, chitosan was applied separately on cotton fabric for ink-jet printing. A two-bath method was proposed and it was confirmed that a better colour yield was achieved with this method. However, the use of chitosan reduced the tensile strength of the ink-jet printed fabric slightly. Due to the specific printing and conductivity requirements for ink-jet printing, not all conventional printing chemicals, such as sodium alginate and urea, used for cotton fabric can be directly incorporated into the ink formulation. As a result, the cotton fabric requires pretreatment with the printing chemicals prior to the stage of ink-jet printing. Cotton is pretreated with the printing chemicals by means of a coating method. The aim of this paper was to study the possibility and effectiveness of applying low-temperature plasma treatment to enhance the performance of pretreatment paste containing sodium alginate so as to improve the properties of the ink-jet printed cotton fabric. Experimental results revealed that a low-temperature plasma pretreatment coupled with the ink-jet printing technique could improve the final printed properties of cotton fabric.
