Traitement de surface par impactIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Keeping costs down in a maintenance painting project is a major concern for asset owners in all industries, but critical for those in the marine business. The operators of seagoing vessels know that they are only profitable when they are carrying cargo or passengers, and in the case of product carriers, the more versatile they are as far as the different types of liquids they can carry, the more often they will be in revenue-earning service. Thus, when these vessels are due for scheduled maintenance dry-docking, it is essential that this is planned carefully to ensure that the proper surface preparation is carried out and that the protective coating applied is suitable for the owner’s requirements. This not only keeps costs down, but also makes certain that the vessels are in dry-dock for the minimum time, and thus returned to revenue service as quickly as possible. Note de contenu : - Fig. 1. Heavy deck-head corrosion in a chemical tank and an area to be blasted and painted is clearly marked to ensure the grit blasting is controlled
