Résumé : |
The insole is a layer in shoes that the foot rests on. It is made of knitted fabrics, nonwovens, polymer foams or a combination of these materials. Durability, resilience, shock absorption, compressive strength, high coefficient of friction, ideal density, hardness, and effective moisture management are the main requirements for insoles. The most popular materials include latex, neoprene, polymeric materials, and textile constructions. The most common materials used to make insoles are textile structures such as nonwovens, felts, and spacer fabrics. The insoles are manufactured using processes including cryogenic machining and additive manufacturing. This article provides an overview of the types of insoles, essential properties, raw materials used, manufacturing processes used, limitations of insoles, and advancements in insoles. |
