Thus, the mold costs increase in a linear relationship with the number of heating cartridges provided. It is therefore desirable to aim for as few cartridges as possible, but at the same time, this can have a disavantageous effect on the homogeneity of the temperature distribution and the robustness of the process. Until now, these conflicting goals were largely resolved based on experience. But it can also be done systematically. Note de contenu : - Specifying the degrees of freedom and boundary conditions
- Reaching the goal with a structured procedure
- Step1 : optimum number and position of the heating cartridges
- Step2 : Position of the control points
- Step3 : Robust process and necessary heating output
- FIGURES : 1. Fixed and moving half of a two-cavity mold for headlamp reflectors of BMC - 2. The possible positions for heating cartridges in brown and green for uniform distribution in the mold - in the first step their influence on the evaluation area is determined - 3. The influence ofheating cartridges on the evaluation area falls with increasing distance from the cavity center (positions of the first calculation in green, and the second calculation in orange) - 4. Four heating cartridges are the ideal number within the cavity ; more cartridges do not result in a further temperature increase - 5. With a virtual DoE, all possible positions for heating cartridges are determined with and outside the cavity - 6. Temperature reached in the jacket area around the cavity, depending on the number and spacing of the heating cartridges - 7. With the aid of a thermal simulation of the mold, the possible positions for the three control points are determined - 8. Four heating cartridges each in three control circuits with the associated control points (TC01, TC02 and TC03) - this what the final layout looks like
