Résumé : |
Within the framework of the IGF project, the ITM has succeeded in developing and implementing innovative compression textiles made of a new type of yarn with shape memory effect (SMY), which can be put on with significantly less effort compared to commercial products. The special feature is that the integrated SMY causes the compression textile to contract only when heat is applied after donning, thus gradually building up the compression effect. This makes e.g. stockings significantly easier to put on, which will increase the acceptance of compression therapy. For the prompt transfer of the research results into industrial practice and thus into commercial products, the manufacturing technologies already established in the German textile industry were addressed. Therefore, suit-able SMY were implemented by means of melt spinning technology and the compression textiles by flat knitting technology, for which the necessary technological and product preparation know-how was provided especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). |
