Sensibilité cutanéeIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Good medicine tastes bitter, said Confucius. Indeed, many active pharmaceutical ingredients taste bitter, manifesting the cross-cultural believe that the bitterness of medicine is correlated with beneficial pharmacological activity. Bitter taste receptors have recently been discovered in skin. Their activation triggers the synthesis of skin barrier lipids, making them novel targets for the treatment of sensitive skin. Amaretine® (hereafter called the bittersweet complex) builds on this new knowledge by combining bitter with sweet components : bitter andrographolide from Andrographis paniculata leaves and sweet glycyrrhetinic acid from Glycyrrhiza glabra roots activate the skin’s bitter receptors and reduce inflammatory responses. Both active components are enclosed in a liposomal carrier system for optimal dermal delivery, to synergistically comfort sensitive skin. The bittersweet complex performs excellently in consumer surveys, where people with sensitive skin report a reduction in redness, itching, stinging, or burning sensations after treatment. This action was further confirmed in clinical studies, as well as in placebo controlled in vivo and in vitro studies. Finally, we could show that improving symptoms of sensitive skin measurably improves the quality of life of affected people. Note de contenu : - Characteristics of sensitive skin

PhotoprotectionIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Blue light-induced skin damage originates from two sources: natural blue light, which is part of sunlight, and artificial blue light, which cornes from electronic devices. Topical applications that protect from blue light have reached the cosmetic market. But efficient blue light absorbers are rare.
Nature's answer to blue light are carotenoids, which shield blue light and protect against blue-light induced oxidative stress in plants. Lipoid Kosmetik's active ingredient Carotolino is designed to supply carotenoids to the skin, where they can naturally act as a defensive shield against blue light and reduce oxidative stress. Besides its photo¬protective activity, topically applied carotenoids improve skin colour. Indeed, our in vivo study demonstrates that Carotolino creates a subtle color optimization, shifting pale and dull skin tones to a more lively and healthy appearance.
Carotolino incorporates the best of carrots including stabilised carotenoids. This makes our botanical active a trendy ingredient that synergistically reduces blue light¬induced skin damage while at the same time adding a vivid look.Note de contenu : - Carotenoids - blue light absorbers invented by nature

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : In times of exhaustive lifestyles, we need to compensate the skin's high energy demand in order to keep skin's healthiness and radiance. Active, modern and conscious consumers thus strongly seek for energising and recharging cosmetic ingredients to maintain a radiant skin perfection with a glow of youth, even in periods of high intensity. HerbaGlow® NRG unites extracts of caper flower buds, mulberry leaves and rose roots in a preservative-free and self-preserving solvent system. The COSMOS-approved anti-ageing active targets the number and quality of mitochondria, which are the energy powerhouses of the cell. An extra boost of energy recharges tired-looking skin, yielding a fresh-looking, healthy and youthful glow. This makes the active ingredient a perfect fit for cosmetic concepts such as energycentric formulations, skin burnout treatments, and youth-activating as well as applications aiming to improve skin glow and radiance. Thé grec des montagnes et constituantsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Good sleep is essential for our mental and physical health. Good sleep also makes our skin look more radiant and refreshed.
Tea rituals are known to promote sleep. They help to relax and unwind, they create a mood of calm, and they facilitate sleep. Therefore, tea-inspired ingredients are a good starting point to create cosmetic night-care concepts, especially ingredients derived from herbal teas that are free of stimulating substances.
Greek mountain tea (Sideritis scardica) has a long tradition as natural remedy to calm body and mind. This unprocessed, caffeine-free, herbal tea has been used for centuries as natural sleep support. But there is more to mountain tea: it contains protective and regenerative phytochemicals that help our skin to recover overnight.
Here we present Mountain Tea Pro (from now on called “Mountain Tea Extract”), a natural extract of organic Sideritis scardica herb from a traceable source, that brings together the concept of tea-inspired beauty rituals and activity-proven benefits for skin. It is a perfect cosmetic ingredient to create relaxing night-care, mood-enhancing self-care, and beauty-sleep products.Note de contenu : - Mountain tea - a tradicion of calming and relaxing
