Système de libération contrôlée (technologie)Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : ChlorHexidine Digluconate [CHD] was encapsulated inside an ethylcellulose shell material [Aquacoat ECD], and then spray dried to produce mixed microparticles (MPs). The validity and functional quality of the resultant [CHD-MPs] were analyzed on vamp and lining leather which are used to manufacture shoes for diabetics. The morphology, efficiency of encapsulation and in vitro release characteristics of the [CHD-MPs] were optimized in order to impregnate [CHD-MPs] onto leather footwear for diabetics. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to characterize the [CHD-MPs] and the leathers treated with it. SEM images illustrated that the [CHD-MPs] were spherical, smooth in shape and adhered well to leather. In vitro CHD-release studies from its MPs, and for leather treated with it were performed in phosphate buffer saline at pH =7.2. There was an inherently controlled release behaviour of CHD for all the formulations on leather. Finally, microbiologic studies on leather treated with [CHD-MPs] were done. This study suggested that footwear containing [CHD- MPs] is/will improve the quality of daily life for diabetics. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Materials

Vapeur d'eauIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this study, 1200 pairs of work shoes were examined that had caused complaints by users due to dampness resulting from perspiration in the shoes. It was determined that the upper leather was box calf, the lining was a polyether urethane-based synthetic textile product having a non-woven structure and the insole was a polymeric material of an ethylene- propylene diene rubber (EPDM)-based foam structure. It was also found that the water vapour permeability and water absorption properties of the synthetic insole used in the manufacturing of the work shoes were quite low. It was concluded that this prevented absorption of wetness formed inside the shoe and transfer of the damp to the air outside, and negatively affected foot comfort, causing user complaints. Vêtements en cuirIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this study, actual annual production figures of a tannery processing sheepskins for garments in the Menemen Organized Leather Industrial Region of Izmir, Turkey were examined so as to establish production costs and determine unit costs. A cost distribution table was formed using the actual figures obtained from the tannery and units costs were then determined. It was found that total actual costs comprised 66.1% skins, 19.6% chemical substances, 5.4% labour and 6.03% general production expenses. Note de contenu : - Cost items

Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this research, the effects of microorganisms on suede quality of double-face leather were examined. The bacterial numbers on salted sheepskin samples were found as 1.8x106-4.3x107 cfu/g on solid medium and 1.9x106-4.7x107 cfu/g on halophile medium containing 10-30% NaCl. However it was found that salted sheepskins contained 4.4x101-2.0x104 cfu/g of fungi. While 53-74% of halophilic bacteria and 39-58% of fungi showed proteolytic activity, 47-62% of halophilic bacteria and 35-54% of fungi showed lipolytic activity. It was observed that defective light stained areas on suede surface of finished double-face leathers were caused by microorganisms on salted sheepskins and that these defects correspond to 35% of the total double-face leathers amount. Consequently, it was decided that the proteolytic and lipolytic activities of microorganisms on the flesh side of the sheepskins decreased the suede quality and caused economical losses. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this study, chrome shavings from tanning industry were hydrolyzed with a commercial protease in alkali medium. Some chemical analyses were made and amino acid composition of collagen hydrolysate obtained from chrome shavings determined. This collagen hydrolysate was used for the production of keratinase from Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633 as a carbon and nitrogen source. The culture grew in fermentation medium containing various proportion of collagen hydrolysate (1-5% w/v) at pH 7.0 and pH 10.0 with agitation rate of 200 rpm. The best keratinase production was obtained from the medium containing 1% hydrolysate (w/v) at pH 7.0 for 36 hours and with 3% hydrolysate (w/v) at pH 10.0 for 24 hours.
