Résumé : |
This book is a simple and concise introduction to the effect of polymeric binders in the performance of a finished leather. It aims at exposing the formulation requirements of certain acrylic resin binder suitable for leather finishing applications. The materials are presented in a manner to benefit both the students studying leather science and technology or leather engineering in tertiary institutions as well as those in the leather industry whose knowledge in this technology is deficient. Students of polymer science and technology will also appreciate the contents of this book as it tries to study the effect acrylic polymer resin in the performance of finished leathers. This book will assist mostly undergraduates in understanding the processes of leather making, formulation of finishing agents, properties and behavior of finished leather. It will also benefit those with little or no technical background in leather processes as well as those who have sophisticated background in science but no experience in the leather industry. It will also make for a good reading material for the general public that are yet to know what synergy exist between polymers and leather. |
