Growth is slowing - The PC market is currently growing at annual rates of 6 to 7%, somewhat slower than in previous years. By 2010, annual growth will probably have fallen to 5 to 6%. Demand for the optical data storage media CDs and DVDs, currently the biggest application for PC, will peak in the next few years because of new memory technologies. How quickly the Blu-ray Disc, also made of PC, will become established, cannot be predicted. |
