Résumé : |
In the years 2015 to 2018, the growth of the global PC market almost reached its capacity limits in some cases. The associated unusually high price level normalized noticeably by the end of 2018. In the medium term, demand is expected to grow by around 4 % annually. |
Note de contenu : |
- China self-sufficient in PC in the medium terme
- Expansionof PC fils and new applications in E+E
- PC blends for the lithium-ion battery
- New car interiors
- Forgery-proof identity documents
- PC composites with continuous fibers - Aesthetic and high-strength
- Self-medication and wearables
- Trend towards circular economy
- Figure : The trends towards e-mobility and autonomous driving result in more sophisticated car interior concepts. PC is perfect for many components ; large optical displays are on the rise
- Fig. 1 : Covestro expands its global production capacity for specialty films at four sites to meet growing demand in all regions
- Fig. 2 : Their excellent toughness predestines PC blends for use as crash absorbers in electric vehicle batteries
- Fig. 3 : Concept of a vehicle display instrument 3D hybrid speedometer with seamless PC foil surface. The film is deformed by high pressure forming (high pressure forming, HPF)
- Fig. 4 : The pedal crank made of the CF composite material Maezio for a mountain bike is not only very light and robust ; it also looks attractive thanks to its carbon fiber look
- Fig. 5 : One example of the rapidly growing market for self-medication using injection devices is a needle-free injection system for diabetes patients developed by QS medical technology, Ltd (QS) from Beijing, China |
