Elle a comme caractéristiques la légereté, la rigidité et la résistance et comme particularité d'être une fibre longue (plusieurs dizaines de centimètres), par rapport aux fibres courtes (coton, chanvre) ou moyennes (laine).Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Composite materials have assumed increasing importance in the last thirty years due to their very high physical-mechanical properties that make it possible to use them for structural applications in various areas. Pylones électriquesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Using of composite materials as lattice transmission tower structural material is increasing over conventional zinc galvanized steel materials because of some special features. Special attention should be paid regarding strength and stability of the transmission tower structure which are made with composite materials. In this present study, an effort has been made to analyze the strength and stability of transmission tower made with composite material, Carbon Fiber Epoxy (CFE). The transmission tower is modeled in STAAD considering CFE as structural material to analyze it in terms of strength and stability with different loading conditions in real life application. The maximum tensile stress is found at the transmission tower members near to the base of the structure with the amount of 210MPa. The breaking stress of CFE material is 1200MPa which is much more than the tensile stress occurs at the transmission tower at different loading conditions. The innovative design approach incorporating stability analysis found to be most competent for stating the stability and strength of tower and further clarify the safety approach of design.

TrousIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The aerospace industry has pioneered the use of carbon fibre reinforced polymers (CFRP) for numerous years, in many shapes, sizes and types. For applications where CFRP alone might fail, further materials such as aluminium and/or titanium are combined to make a multi-material stack. In a safety-conscious industry, mechanical fastening is the method of choice for joining components. This results in the requirement to produce many thousands of holes per aircraft. Hole production to tight tolerances, typically H8, and high economic efficiency requirements mean CFRP alone is a significant challenge. When adding dissimilar materials in a stack format, hole production becomes highly problematic. Note de contenu : - CFRP, titanium and aluminium

TrousIndex. décimale : 620.11 Matériaux (propriétés, résistance) Résumé : An analytical method, for determining the behavior under inplane loading of symmetric composite laminates containing an elliptical or a circular hole, is proposed in this article. This method is developed using conformal mapping and the complex variable approach which is based on the parametric representation of a given ellipse. The results obtained by this method are compared with those obtained by finite elements. This method allows the better understanding of the behavior of composite plates under in plane loading for different ratios of the minor axis to the major axis of the hole, different types of loading, different load ratios, and different types of materials.
