Cuir d'ameublementIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In the scope of upholstery leather emission evaluation various test specifications on the basis of test chamber examinations are implemented requiring an ambient air concentration hygienic assessment after 3 and 28 days conditioning periods. The quantified VOC test chamber concentrations are compared with defined target values. With increasing frequency, tanneries and the leather processing industry force test institutes into the approach to generate valid ratings of potential contaminant loads by applying short-terra evaluations.
Both the arrangement of an expressive pool of measured data on upholstery leathers and proficiency of measuring time-point related VOC frequency scales and their reciprocal dependences (interdependency) should enable an estimation approach : On the basis of quantified TVOC (Total VOC) and single compound concentrations measured at time-point t1 = 3d a prediction on a derivable probability can be drawn to which extent leather samples may comply with the threshold limits defined for the prolonged evaluation reading point t2 = 28d. From the aspect of a statistical data arrangement, this article summarizes upholstery leather samples VOC test results including discussion of approaches for usage of VOC results extracted from short-term evaluations.Note de contenu : - EVALUATION SCHEMES AND GUIDE VALUE THRESHOLD LIMITS : Test collection and sample size - Concentrations of volatile (VOC) and semi-volatile organic compounds - Discussion of quantification time-point related TVOC frequency scales - Evaluation of time-point related dependences of TVOC/TSVOC frequency cumulations

Deadman, Auteur Année de publication : 1994 Article en page(s) : p. 105-108 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Upholstery leather which was originally smooth is often blamed for stretching and becoming wavy after use. This phenomenon is known as bagginess and is a feature for which upholstery tanners in particular would like to be able to test.
The BLC in conjunction with Stable Micro Systems has developed a method which automatically measures the set or bagginess of leathers. The method incorporates the use of a materials tester in conjunction with a purpose built jig and specially written software.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rjtuh9djI2uMXcybdwF4kg2L-0U58uKV/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=8290

Titre : Testing aerobic degredation of the protein portion of filter cake after filtration of chrome tanned waste Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : M. Dvorackova, Auteur ; J. Kupec, Auteur ; H. Mikulcakova, Auteur Année de publication : 2007 Article en page(s) : p. 77-84 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Américain (ame) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : An example of utilizing tanning waste as a secondary raw material is enzymatic hydrolysis of chrome shavings, the result of which is collagen hydrolysate (commercially applicable ) and filter cake containing hydrated Cr2O3 contaminated with collagen residues. With a view to further potential utilisation of chrome cake, the content of collagen portion has to be reduced to a minimum. A possible solution, the subject of this presented work, is removal of the collagen portion through aerobic biological degradation in an aqueous or soil environment. This process was examined by means of biochemical oxygen consumption (standard CSN EN ISO 9408) and carbon dioxide production expressed as a percentage of theoretical production (standard ASTM 5209-92). The source of micro organisms was the commercially produced soil substrate and a soil extract prepared there from for inoculating aqueous environment. Using the described conditions, it was found that the collagen portion is removed from aqueous environment by 83% and from the soil by 58% (in approximately 80 hours). Due to its insolubility, chromic oxide does not exhibit toxic influence.
