Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this study the new technology of an ultra-rapid sulpho-syntan tannage consisting of the successive action of a basic and then an acid liquor without pre-tanning, has been experimentally investigated. Results obtained on laboratory models have shown that this technology leads to a significant reduction in the total tanning time needed for properly tanned leathers having a satisfactory hydrothermal stability and a smooth grain. The tanning liquors (both basic and acid) are recycled after simple adjustment of parameters, this is taker as being necessary because of ecological pressures.
In artificially aged parchments (exposed to SO, at 25 ppm) sulphur accumulated in layers that were less dense (i.e. showing low electron backscatter). Historical parchments showed layered distributions of sulphur. some of which was deep in the parchment profile. Surprisingly, calcium appeared not to be associated with sulphur in artificially aged samples. However in degraded historical leathers and parchments there was often a close association between sulphur, calcium, iron and copper. These metals may well increase the rate of collagen degradation by catalysing the formation of sulphuric acid. gels ioniquesUn gel ionique (ou Ionogel ) est un matériau composite constitué d'un liquide ionique immobilisé par une matrice inorganique ou polymère. Hydrophobie
PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Ionogel based on ionic liquids plays a vital role in wearable electronic devices. In this study, a robust and anti-bacterial ionogel with high sensitivity and hydrophobicity is synthesized by adding 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide to thermoplastic polyurethanes at a ratio of 1:1. The ionogel not only demonstrates tensile strength of 23.1 MPa and elongation at break of 1008%, but also exhibits excellent fatigue resistance with low residual strain (8%) and small hysteresis loop. Ionic liquid makes the ionogel have high-temperature stability (T5% near 300°C) and low Tg (-63.3°C). Due to the anti-bacterial property of ionic liquid, the ionogel formed by ionic liquid has anti-bacterial property, with up to 99% inhibition against E. coli and S. aureus. The sensor prepared with the ionogel shows a Gauge Factor of 1.8, with a short response time (128 ms) and a stable induction signal under water and at low temperature. Due to those performance characteristics, we believe that the study could provide insights for subsequent research on ionogel-based wearable electronic devices, for instance, the development of electronic skin in the leather industry. Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : For a leather to be classified as genuine, the finish thickness requirement must be under 0.15 mm or 150 pm. For many years, finishers have been able to meet this requirement relatively easily and the market has had clarity as to the definition of coated leathers (>0.15 mm) and genuine leather. A finish thickness of around 0.1-0.12 mm has been able to meet most of the heavy-duty requirements of modem automotive finishes. The mechanical requirements include :
- Finish flexibility
- Finish adhesion (thicker finishes struggle here)
- Finish rubfastness
- Finish abrasion and scuff resistance.
The finish must also cover the underlying leather surface for the aesthetic of colour modification effects as the crust colour may not be exactly the correct colour required. The colour may also not be uniformly even, and a surface coating will make it so.
The leather may also contain natural animal signatures that will be covered to give a smooth "unblemished" surface with the illusion that the leather was never marked in the first place. These are the main considerations that a finisher will have in designing their formulation and, up until recently, the standard automotive finish was able to achieve this.Note de contenu : - Fifty microns
