Cosmétiques -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Public discussions of many traditional preservative chemistries has made it more difficult for formulators to develop adequately preserved products. Inadequatly preserved personal care products are a public health risk that can trigger a product recall and severely damage the repitation of the manufacturer. As a result, many formulators are turning to natural and nature-identical multifunctional additives as a way to maintain the microbiological stability and safety of their products.
Schülke & Mayr GmbH has a long history of combining chemistries to obtain optimized perservative systems. The boosting effect of naturally-derived Zemea Propanediol, from DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, combined with nature-identical fragrance materials and gentle synthetics, give sensiva PA 30 and sensiva PA 40 the ability to stabilise many personal care formulations to the same stringent criteria as more traditional preservative blends, bridging the gap between tradition and sustainability.Note de contenu : - MULTIFUCTIONAL ADDITIVES : Nature identical

Protection cutanéeIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : In today’s world consumers aim for a sustainable and healthy lifestyle. Therefore, a modern cosmetic product must not only be safe to use but is formulated and produced with an aspiration for a low environmental footprint. These demands call for efficient and safe ingredients without compromising the microbial safety.
The options for microbial stabilization are increasingly limited due to legislative restrictions and changing consumer expectations. Furthermore, the increased use of natural ingredients can pose a higher risk of contamination. High raw material standards and a sound microbial quality management (e.g. Ashland’s MQMTM) applied throughout the entire production process lay ground for a hygienic product. However, to safeguard the integrity of a cosmetic product during its transport, storage and use, an adequate broad-spectrum antimicrobial is essential.
Ashland’s latest launch sensivaTM sc 80 multifunctional meets multiple needs. The synergistic blend is a powerful antibacterial and fungicide, safe to use, sustainable, and nature-derived (ISO 16128). Additionally, sensivaTM sc 80 multifunctional provides skin functionalities that contribute to well-aging and a healthy skin.Note de contenu : - Antimicrobial activity of sensivaTM sc 80 multifunctional

Tension superficielleIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Cosmetic products must be adequately preserved against microbiological contamination, not only to maintain product integ
rity, but to protect the consumer's health. Phenoxyethanol is the most frequently used preservative for this purpose and its popularity is growing. At its maximum allowed dosage of 1 %, phenoxyethanol alone often is not sufficient to microbiologically stabilize cosmetic applications. Therefore, phenoxyethanol is frequently offered as a blend with other preservatives or pro¬moters of antimicrobial efficacy. The new OCX — Efficacy Enhancing System by schülke allows phenoxyethanol to improve its broad-spectrum efficacy, especially against fungi.Note de contenu : - Fig. 1 : Most frequently used preservatives in Beauty & Personal Care (BPC) Products (Mintel GNPD, period 2018)
