Résumé : |
Water-borne UV-curing wood coatings are already used as standard for high productivity, quality and enviornmentally friendly demands. A new polyurethane solution introduces two crosslinking mechanisms to increase robustness of the system. This further crosslinking mechanism also improves drying times, which reduces energy consumption, improves productivity, and gives furniture manufacturers greater flexibility to react to market requirements. |
Note de contenu : |
- Greater flexibility with waterborne systems
- Reducing drying time
- Dual crosslinking reduces costs
- Curing even under low level UV radiation improves robustness
- Increasing process efficiency
- Multiple uses
- Improved chemical resistance
- Flexible response to market needs
- FIGURES : 1. The drying process for water-borne UV-curing wood coatings - 2. Duration on the coating process, a) when using water-borne UV-curing standard coatings, b) when using water-borne UV-curing coatings based on the new multi-curing PUD - 3. Drying time using water-borne UV-curing standard coatings and based on the novel multi-curing PUD - 4. Comparison of ethanol resistance of coatings at various photoinitiator concentrations and lines speeds - 5. Diverse range of potential applications for the new PU dispersion - 6. Characteristics profile of the new PU dispersion (redline) compared with two conventional water-borne UV-curing binding agents
- TABLES : 1. Properties of a water-borne clear-coat formulation based on the novel PUD, with and without UV curing - Properties of two water-borne white-pigmented furniture coating formulations based on the multi-curing PUD - 3. Pigmented coatings performance of different UV-curing PUDs tested after 7 days at RT according to DIN EN 12720. UV-curing : Hg and Ga 80W/cm lamp, 5m/min (dose 950 ml/cm2) |
