Résumé : |
This article focuses on the combination of additive manufacturing (AM)and composites. In fact, we all know that composites manufacturing is "additive" by definition. CCS and SUTD started exploring the inegration of additive manufacturing and composites in order to develop specific design guidelines and rules. This paper is the first of a series of articles highlighting the opportunities of integrating both technologies, as well as examples of implementation. |
Note de contenu : |
- Non-isotropic properties versus complexity and customization
- What applications would benefit most from such a combination of manufacturing technologies ?
- FIGURES : 1. Synergies between AM and Composites - 2. Examples for AM/Composite components, helicopter tail-rotor shaft and H2 pressure vessel with integrated end-caps |
