Résumé : |
The flexibility of infusion lines is a key product feature for their application. However, adverse pressure may cause kinking that can interfere with treatment safety. New test methods characterize the kinking behavior of hoses, and are able to predict the behavior over several days within hours. |
Note de contenu : |
- Kinking radius of infusion lines
- Characterizing the resilience of the hoses
- Mechanical stress relaxation and Maxwell modeling
- Correlation between stress relaxation and kinking behavior
- FIGURES : 1. The kinking radius is determined using a U-shaped piece of hose that is brought together at a constant speed in a holder - 2. The kinking radii of the material types at 23°C and 40°C show that PVC-P hoses exhibit a smaller and therefore better kinking radius than TPEs - 3. Principle for determining the resilience capacity. A kink occurs due to the local collapse of the wall caused by pressure or bending the hose - 4. Typical curve progression for the recovery of the hose using PVC-P as an example with a linling time of 2 day at 23°C - 5. Comparison of the extrapolation to 30 days for the recovery capacity from a forced kink at 23°C and 40°C - 6. Principle of mechanical stress relaxation test using the TSSR method - 7. Schematic approach for developing a regression model
