The growing quantity of components made from carbon-fiber-reinforced composites is giving rise to valuable scrap. To recycle these secondary fibers, the possibility of processing them into wet-laid nonwovens was investigated. The resulting nonwovens of suitable areal weight can be processed by the RTM process into composites with high tensile strength for thin-walled components. |
