The well-known shiitake mushroom is believed to present potential rejuvenating benefits, which have led to its recognition as an elixir of life. With a considerable traditional knowledge behind it, the mushroom represents an interesting botanical ingredient with suggested effects in counteracting skin ageing, A new shiitake mushroom-based extract has been recently launched with a specific focus on new targets of the collagen lifecycle, key for a proper protein functionality. The ingredient showed to improve the quality of collagen, while reducing its deterioration and providing a complete care of this important protein for a firmer and younger skin. |
