Paint is not a simple mixture of resin/binder, pigment and organic-solvents/water. Paint also contains several chemicals in minor quantity (known as additives) which can influence the properties of coating in broad spectrum. Surfactant like wetting and dispersing agent is a special type of additive used in very low amourn (<2%) but hasthe power to change the performance of coating many fold. ln this article the effect of surfactant (additive) on corrosion performance of coating has been discussed. |
