In the present study, three bioflocculants were extracted from Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus fusiformis, and their active components, including saccharides, proteins, glycoproteins, osamines, and fats, were analyzed. The results showed that saccharides were associated with flocculation. However, proteins had a weak effect on flocculation, and fats, osamines and glycoproteins had no effect. The findings elucidated the role of each ingredient in the removal of contaminants from tannery wastewater, providing a basic for understanding the mechanism of action of bioflocculants in the treatment of tannery wastewater. |
