Tannage Résumé : Treatment of tannery wastewater is a challenging task because of its complex components, deep colour and high concentration of suspended solids. This study aims to develop a treatment system that can effectively reduce the pollutants in tannery wastewater to an environmentally acceptable level. Manganese (Mn)-doped mesoporous titanium dioxide (T102) was successfully synthesized via a sol-gel method using butyl titanate as a precursor and surfactant P123 as a template. When the dosage of Mn in the mesoporous Ti02 was 0.4%, the degradation rate of organic pollutants was nearly 90% after 8 hours of treatment with metal halide. The as-prepared products showed excellent photocatalytic activity even sunlight was used as an illuminant. The degradation rate of organic pollutants reached 87.5% when sunlight was used for excitation. Results of this study can be used as a reference in purifying various types of industrial wastewater. ZincIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : Zinc has important biological functions as one of the essential trace elements to human. The Zinc tanning agent could produce white leathers with properties comparable to the chrome tanning agent, and the tanning agents based on Zinc salts were prepared using different masking agents such as sodium formate, sodium acetate, sodium tartrate and potassium hydrogen phthalate. The selection of the zinc tanning agents has been optimized based on the properties like hydrothermal stability and percentage exhaustion of zinc. The results indicated that zinc sulfate can be used as tanning agent under acidic conditions (50g/L, pH=3, 25°C) and is an effective and superior method. Moreover, Sodium citrate (0.1mol/L) was selected as masking agent compared with other masking agents. The hydrothermal stability was improved effectively with the action of masking agent. Wet-white (tannage)Index. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : This paper focuses on the effect of masking agents and tanning with zinc and zinc-titanium metal complexes. Sodium formate, sodium acetate, sodium citrate and sodium tartrate were used as masking agents. The best masking condition was chosen corresponding to the highest shrinkage temperature. Zinc sulfate and titanium sulfate, in different concentrations, were chosen as tanning agents in mixed-tanning experiments. The highest shrinkage temperature of the wet-white was 77°C, and the attendant zinc content in its leather was 3.63%. After retannage with chrome powder, the shrinkage temperature of the resultant leather increased as expected, and reached 96°C. The wet-white was successfully split which tend to the use of non-chrome pre-tanning, the finished leather was able to meet the requirements.

Tannage Résumé : In this article, near infrared reflection (NIR) spectra were employed to investigate the pH influences on binding behaviors of collagen fiber (CF) towards conventional non-chrome inorganic salts (Al and Zr). Based on the analyses of NIR and corresponding 2D NIR spectra, the binding capacity of Al (or Zr) contributed by each type of functional groups on CF was successfully evaluated at different pH conditions by carried out the aluminum tanning (or zirconium tanning) to native CF deaminated collagen fiber (DACF) and decarboxylated collagen fiber (DCCF), respectively. Our experimental results indicated that, for aluminum tanning, both the carboxyl group and amino group of CF are the active sites responsible for Al-binding and the reactivity of carboxyl group to aluminum is higher than that of amino group. However, the amino binding sites are more influenced with different pH. As for zirconium tanning, amino group and carboxyl group are still the active binding sites while the reactivity of amino group is higher than that of carboxyl group in the pH range of 0.5~1.5 which increases with the increasing tanning pH. Furthermore, based on the analysis of Fourier transform infrared spectra of polycaproamides reacted with zirconium at different pH, it was found that the amide group in collagen is responsible for Zr-binding between collagen fibers and its reactivity with zirconium increases with the rise in pH. TransglutaminaseIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Microbial transglutaminases(MTG) was used to pre-tan hide to investigate its effect on the hydrothermal stability of hide and the improvement for exhaustion of chrome tanning agent. This study tested the shrinkage temperatures of samples treated with MTG only and tanned MTG followed by the chrome tanning agent separately. The Cr2O3 content in effluents was surveyed after chrome tanning. It was shown that the shrinkage temperature of hide sample treated with 0.6% MTG at pH 6.0 for 2h was above 80°C, much higher than 54.8°C, which is the Ts of control. While the Ts of leather sample, which was pre-treated with 0.6% of MTG first, tanned with only 4% chrome tanning agent were higher than 100°C, but initial pH is 2.0. Moreover, the exhaustion of chrome tanning agent in leather was improved significantly when the dosage of chrome salt was less than 4%. Note de contenu : - The amount of MTG and pre-tanning time
