Revêtements poudre:Peinture poudreIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : The authors discusses the dispersion of Complex Inorganic Colour Pigments (CICPs) in powder coatings.
The previous article discussed the general properties of the class of high-performance pigments known as Complex Inorganic Colour Pigments (CICPs). These pigments are known for their outstanding inertness and resistance to chemicals, migration and weathering. They also have some inherent colouring properties advantageous for powder coatings. The control of colour in powder coatings depends on the predictability of the dispersion of the coloured pigments. CICPs have dispersion properties that produce colour that is controllable and stable. CICPs give controllable colour because the relatively higher use-rates as compared to organic pigments allow more advantageous mixing ratios. This can be demonstrated in the tinting of near white colours. Stability is beneficial if the powder coating needs to be re-extruded to correct for other colourants performance. The CICPs will not develop as much colour as standard organic pigments. Stability can be demonstrated by comparing a light blue tint colour made with either standard phthalo blue (PBI15.1), or Cobalt Blue (PBI28).Note de contenu : - Explanation of testing procedure

Pigments colorés inorganiques complexes
Revêtements poudreIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : The author discusses CICPs, a class of pigments, which provide specialised properties for the most demanding applications.
We surround ourselves with colour. In fact, our use of colour predates even modern humans. Scientists have discovered that our ancestors, Homo helmei, dispersed pigments with an abalone shell and quartz rock into natural resins to produce paints for body adornment. Those earliest pigments were natural ochres. In the intervening eons we have expanded our palette of pigments to include synthetic pigments and organic chemistry based pigments. Still a stalwart of performance are the inorganic pigments and a specific class of these pigments called Complex Inorganic Colour Pigments (CICPs).
CICPs provide interesting options for demanding applications for powder coatings. CICPs provide durable colour that can stand up to the most challenging and aggressive processing and applications. They also have excellent dispersion properties so that colour formulas are predictable and stable during production. Recent advances have found that besides colour, these pigments have properties that give them the ability to address regulatory requirements and give not only colour, but functional properties.Note de contenu : - Range of pigments

Revêtements poudreIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : Why high-performance complex inorganic colour pigments make excellent colourants for high-durability resin systems based in fluoropolymers.
Powder coatings are an environmentally friendly way to apply coatings to a wide range of substrates for a number of uses. One of the most demanding applications is for building materials in aggressive environments. All the variables that lead to degradation of coatings - heat, ultraviolet (UV) light, moisture, oxidation agents and chemicals along with simple physical abuse - are present. For these applications, the highest performance components have to be used, if specifications, such as those prescribed by American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) 2605 are to be met. Part of the equation is the resin used while the other is the colourant.Note de contenu : Table 1 : QUV-A Testing

Pigments inorganiques -- Analyse
PyrochloreIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : A new pigment chemistry, niobium tin pyrochlore yellow, has been developed that expands the envelope of durable colours available in paints and coatings. It has the chromaticity and brightness of organic pigments and the opacity and durability of inorganic pigments. The new yellow is complemented by improvements in rutile tin zinc to increase its red value. Together these pigments provide an alternative to lead chromate pigments and expand the envelope of durable colours in the yellow and orange colour space. Note de contenu : - High chroma
