In 2008, under the management of NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation, Japan) and METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan), the University of Tokyo started a national project involving Toray Industries, Inc., Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd., Toyobo Co., Ltd. and Takagiseiko Co. as partners to solve the problems associated with the use of carbon-fibre-reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTP) in the automotive industry. |
