Titre : Jet milling of low-density products Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Bernhard Renner, Auteur Année de publication : 2021 Article en page(s) : p. 39-41 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Fragmentation Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The author discusses the effects and influences of the main jet milling parameters, with a special focus on low density products.
Merials with bulk densities below 200kg/m3 can be a challenge for mechanical processes. Especially grinding of very fine products can change the basic conditions in jet mills significantly. A big potential for process improvements can be expected when the individual properties of such products are considered. This investigation reviews the effects/influences of the main jet milling parameters, with a special focus on low density products. The aim was to transfer all positive results into a special mill/plant design for such products.
Although the jet mill principle with opposed jets was invented more than 140 years ago, its evolution is not over yet and the technology can be improved even further.
The typical material used for research and investigation tests of new processes or machines is limestone. This is due, among other things, to the easy availability, harmless character and low price of this material. As a consequence, almost all empirical laws which are valid in the grinding and classification sector are exclusively based on tests with limestone. In most cases, these laws provide good comparability and/or allow a good approximation of some tendencies. Limestone shows moderate material densities (2600-2900kg/m3) and a real comminution is required to reach finer particle sizesNote de contenu : - Low mass as a challenge for the comminution process

The wide application of cationic acrylate polymer emulsion in national production is due to its good balance of positive and negative charges, and this performance is significantly better than traditional anionic acrylate polymer emulsions. From the perspective of composition and process, the cationic acrylate emulsion is modified to improve its bad performance, or to make it more excellent. Research and development trends include more extensive applications and more environmental protection. This article reviews the research progress of cationic acrylate polymer emulsions, including research on organic fluorine¬modified cationic acrylates, research on organic silicon-modified cationic acrylates, and new emulsifiers-modified cationic acrylates. At the same time, its development prospects are considered. Note de contenu : - Organic fluorine modified cationic acrylate

Sulfate de baryumIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Radiative cooling is a passive cooling technology that offers great promises to reduce space cooling cost, combat the urban island effect and alleviate global warming. To achieve passive daytime radiative cooling, current state-of-the-art solutions often utilise complicated multilayer structures or a reflective metal layer, limiting their applications in many fields.
Attempts have been made to achieve passive daytime radiative cooling with single-layer paints, but they often require a thick coating or show partial daytime cooling.
In this work, we experimentally demonstrate remarkable full-daytime subambient cooling performance with both BaSO4 nanoparticle films and BaSO4 nanocomposite paints. BaSO, has a high electron band gap for low solar absorptance and phonon resonance at 9pm for high sky window emissivity. With an appropriate particle size and a broad particle size distribution, the BaSO4 nanoparticle film reaches an ultrahigh solar reflectance of 97.6% and a high sky window emissivity of 0.96. During field tests, the BaSO4 film stays more than 4.5°C below ambient temperature or achieves an average cooling power of 117W/m2. The BaSO4-acrylic paint is developed with a 60% volume concentration to enhance the reliability in outdoor applications, achieving a solar reflectance of 98.1% and a sky window emissivity of 0.95. Field tests indicate similar cooling performance to the BaSO4 films.
Overall, our BaSO4-acrylic paint shows a standard figure of merit of 0.77, which is among the highest of radiative cooling solutions while providing great reliability, convenient paint form, ease of use and compatibility with the commercial paint fabrication process.Note de contenu : - BaSO4 nanoparticle film and BaSO4-acrylic paint fabrication

Keeping steel and metal structures safe from corrosion can be difficult, especially when traditional coatings regularly contain toxic chemicals that harm the environment and aquatic life. Corrosion can be defined as an electrochemical reaction between a material, usually a metal, and its environment that causes a deterioration of the material and its properties.
It is a naturel process which converts refined metals into a more chemically stable form, such as oxide hydroxide, carbonate or sulphide. In summary, it is the graduai destruction (or ageing) of materials by chemical and/or its electrochemical reaction with its environment.Note de contenu : - The cost of corrosion

Matériaux pour les industries agro-alimentairesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Environmental Sustainability is an issue of increasing concern for our planet. So stimulating growth through more sustainable products, resource efficiency and commitment to the environment has reached a critical mass of interest due to the demand of customers, environmental groups, investment firms, government agencies and consumers. Think economically; print ecologically - these two requirements are equally important to combine environmentally friendly production with business success.
Conventional printing inks, adhesives and polymer-based packaging materials have several harmful effects on ecologica I aspects, as well as human wellbeing, thus, eco-friendly alternatives to reduce/ solve the problem are desirable. Over the past few decades the production and application of synthetic polymers and printing ink-related materials have seen an almost exponentia I increase. However, concern regarding depletion of fossil resources, disposai and related issues, as well as government policies has led to thinking about the development of sustainability. Over the last few years, many printing ink manufacturers have moved towards more sustainable inks using phrases like "green", "environmentally friendly", "eco" inks etc. The terms "green" and "sustainable" are often used interchangeably, but they don't mean the same thing. Therefore, choosing suitable materials is very important in food packaging ink and adhesives. The key objective of this article is to elucidate the significance of eco-friendly inks and adhesives and their controlling parameters, which help to curb the equilibrium among human beings and nature by reducing hazardous chemicals.Note de contenu : - HIERARCHY OF CHEMICAL MANAGEMENT : Basic requirements/needs as organisations for sustainable transition - Requirement for transition of green/sustainable inks and adhesives as products - Finish products - Raw materials - Manufacturing process
