Stabilité thermiqueIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : Standard Yellow Iron Oxides are the ideal inorganic pigments to develop a wide range of color shades due to the advantages in performance and cost provided by their high hiding power and opacity, excellent weather, light and chemical fastness and reduced price. But their use in high temperature cured Coatings such as coil, powder or stoving paints is limited. Why ?
When Yellow Iron Oxides are submitted to high temperatures, their goethite structure (FeOOH) dehydrates and partially turns into hematite (Fe203), which is the crystal structure of Red Iron Oxides. This is why the standard Yellow Iron Oxide existing before curing becomes darker and browner (Picture 1).
This change can already take place from temperatures close to 160°C depending on the curing time, the binder system and the Coating formulation itself.Note de contenu : - NUBIOLA'S HEAT RESISTANT INORGANIC PIGMENTS : Zinc ferrites, nubifer K series - Heat resistant yello iron oxide, nubifer Y-7050

Directo-to-metal coatings (DTM) are single layer coatings that are applied on metal substrates and required to provide good protection against corrosion, as well as an aesthetic function, involving not only colour but often also high gloss. These coatings are widely used in the light industrial and Do It Yoursel (DIY)/decorative market segments, where emphasis on the environment has increased in recent years. Aware of the need to fulfil these three requirements (anticorrosive protection, aesthetic function and 'green' profile), Nubiola offers its zinc-free Nubirox 300 series for the development of water-based DTM coatings.Note de contenu : - The requirements for DTM coatings

Pigments inorganiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Cost effective, high performance solutions using yellow iron oxide and zinc ferrites can be achieved in powder coatings.
