Cuirs et peaux -- FinitionTags : 'Cuir automobile' 'Réduction des défauts' COV 'Aspect naturel' Index. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : Looking at the on-going trends and development in the car industry, we expect cars in the future to be characterised by enhanced comfort, increased performance, reduced fuel and energy consumption, improved safety and lower emissions. Differentiation by design - especially in the interior, will become more important. Using leather for the car interior can help car makers create a natural and elegant look, while at the same time achieve easy maintenance. With the added-value that leather brings to the car interior, coupled with its premium image, demand for automotive leather has been growing strong. However, as raw material availability is not always keeping up with the growing demand, tanneries have to fall back on lower quality hides.
The best response to this trend is the "anti"-finish concept which describes the approach for BASF to the different requirements that leather tanneries have to fulfil - both in the short and long term). With tha "anti"-finish concept, BASF want to offer solutions to fulfil the increasing demands stemming from physical fastness, environment and comfort in the automotive industry. Innovative solutions have been developed and described during recent years by FASF on "anti-soiling", "anti-squeak" and "anti-hydrolysis"). Currently, three majors topics are under discussion, especially in east Asia and major OEMs, (Original Equipment Manufacturers) in Europe and North America : a) upgrading of low quality raw-material to fulfill increasing demand for automotive leather "anti-defects", b) a natural, non-plastic look and handl = "anti-covering" and c) low VOC emissions = "anti-emissions" as OEMs comes under increasing pressure to reduce not only the exterior emissions from the engine, but also the VOC emissions from all materials used in the car interior.Note de contenu : - Anti-defects
