Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Demand is Booming - Worldwide demand for PMMA has increased massively since mid-2010. Whereas the PMMA market was laboring under the recession as recently as 2009, by early 2011 it was experiencing supply bottlenecks. Global market volume in 2010 far exceeded pre-crisis levels. One reason for this has been exciting new applications in electronics, particularly LED-TVs, and the rapid recovery of established end uses, mostly in the automotive industry. Above-average market growth is expected in the medium term. Note de contenu : - Manufacturers and raw material supply

VitrageIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : A market (or platic) on the move. After the turbulent times of recent years, in which the PMMA market suffered a severe drop in demand in 2009 due to the recession, followed by a powerful opturn in 2010 and 2011 with considerable delivery problems - driven mainly by the demand for light-guide panels in LED TVs - the market stabilized to a great extent in 2012. In spite of negative economic forecasts due to the European debt crisis, which mainly hit the automotive industry and the construction business, and new substituing technologies in the electronics indsutry, the established material PMMA continues to re-invent itself in attractive applications. - Raw material supply
- Markets and applications
- New applications with growth potential
- Ambient lighting for individual design and more safety
- New molding compound for glazing
- Trend towards functional integration
- Lighter, more break resistant and now even scratch-resistant
- Like wood, but weather-resistant
- Sustainable applicationPermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=20247
