A plea against a blind faith in data. Designing a part is much more than just a matter of calculation. Depending on the problem, it has a more or less creative component and entails many decisions by designers and engineers, which must be made with good judgment. This article provides food for thought by showing the inherent fuzziness of the design process, and thereby opposes a blind faith in data. |
