Résumé : |
Continuous fiber reinforced structural components are today an essential part of high performance applications. However cost effective mass production of functional lightweight components with stiffening ribs and mounting points using automated injection molding has until now not been possible due to the high viscosity of the polymers used. Using monomers as the starting material for in-situ polymerization within the injection molding tool may however now allow this circle to be squared. |
Note de contenu : |
- Anionic high speed polymerization within the mold
- New injection technique reduces thermal stress of the melt
- Near mass production ready manufacturing cell for lightweight construction applications
- Positive overall energy balance
- Exhausting the potential for optimization
- Maximal value addition in a single step |
