Polyaspartic ester polyol based PU-ureas, which are highly unexplored, give good gloss, improved (higher) reaction time, high film build up in a single coat, better leveling and adhesion to a number of substrates with wide application area. We have synthesized a hyperbranched polyaspartic-ester polyol (HPASP) with high atom economy and solvent-free condition via A, + B,B' polycondensation in 'one pot' but two steps. The polyol was reacted with H12MD1 to form one pack high solid moisture-cured PU-urea coatings. The coating exhibited excellent mechanical, thermal, gloss and anticorrosive properties. Keeping the broader application as well as industrial viability in mind, we modified the PU coating to improve flexibility and reduce cost without compromising with the properties. For this, hydroxylated soybean oil (SO) was added to HPASP in various ratios to make PU-ureas based on H12MDI. The PU-ureas based on polyaspartic ester polyol and their SO hybrids showed better reaction control than similar HBP-polyurethanes. The hybrid polyaspartic PU-urea coating films have shown good thermal stability with high gloss transition temperature (Tg). The gloss of all the hybrid coating films was high and the mechanical properties were excellent, some even better than HPASP based PU-urea films. The anticorrosion property of all the coatings was studied using electrochemical technique (Tafel plot) and Pound to be very good.

Procédés de fabricationIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : Pearlescent pigment, a type of effect pigment, obtained by coating metal oxide on laminar flat surfaces such as natural mica. For pearlescent pigment, muscovite grade mica is preferred. Pearlescent pigment manufacturing is a challenging job as there are many stages invo ved in manufacturing pearlescent pigments. Making pearlescent pigment is not pure chemistry oriented process rather it is physiochemical process. Depending upon the particle size and its distribution of mica powder isolated, different grades of pearlescent pigments are manufactured. Various metal oxides are used to coat mica to get various coloured pearlescent pigments. Incineration of coated mica powder is necessary to obtained good luster pigment. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The architectural coatings industry has a key role to play in the sustainable evolution of smart cities in India. These coatings help to facilitate a durable structure. For example they help in achieving higher performance with lower life cycle cost, while fulfilling consumers need. Choosing the right paint is not as simple as selecting the desired color. Indian architectural coatings market is still at a nascent stage as usage levels are much lower compared to other peer markets due to limited awareness about the products and their benefits as well as price conscious customers. However, the industry has witnessed significant growth in the last 5 years with new and complex molecules enhancing properties such as strength, increased resistance to abrasion & weather etc. Going forward, the focus will be on price to performance ratio and not price atone. Wall coatings is one of the predominant areas in construction which not only enhances the aesthetic value of projects but also offers multiple properties such as anti-dust, easy to clean, anti-graffiti, water repellency, long life etc.
There has been a steady rise in home values and new home construction. inventing Master Pieces For You" is the key position of Covestroto deliver high performance polyurethane based raw material to provide properties such as high dirt pick up resistance, crack bridgingability, UV resistance, microbial resistance & water proofing.Note de contenu : - PERFORMANCE OF 2K WATERBORNE POLYURETHANE COATINGS : Tough but flexible - Easy to clean - Dirt pick-up resistance - Fungus/algae resistance

That said, the days of an even 10-year cycle in price have changed to shorter periods of high price (often painfully high) followed by longer periods of relatively low price (painful for the suppliers). Even when relatively "cheap", TiO, continues to be one of the most expensive raw materials in a coating and so ensuring that the pigment you buy is used correctly and efficiently remains a crucial business objective. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : The next important machine that is used for the manufacture of Emulsion Paints is High Speed Disperser. The High Speed Disperser, also previously called High Speed Dissolver, is a standard workhorse used in the manufacture of chemicals, plastics, coatings, inks, paints, adhesives, composites and many other products. An economical and relatively simple piece of mixing equipment, its primary purpose is to incorporate powders into liquid and break down particle agglomerates to produce a fine dispersion.Running at tip speeds up to around 5,000 ft/nnin, the open disc blade of the High Speed Disperser creates vigorous turbulent flow within a low viscosity batch. It also generates a characteristic vortex into which dry ingredients can be added for quick wet-out. The disperser blade may be located on- or off-centre depending on the depth of the vortex (an off-centre blade produces a smaller vortex and reduces air entrapment). As the batch thickens or increases in volume, blade speed is adjusted to maintain the vortex and rate of material turnover. A few other basic guidelines are typically followed in the sizing and
operation of the High Speed Disperser, including :
• Normal operating viscosity range: Water-like to around
50,000 centipoise (Cps)
n Motor specification: 1 HP for every 100 Litres of product (Suggestive, depending on the v iscos ity, this wi II vary)
• Disperser blade diameter: Approximately 1/3 of vessel diameter
• Disperser blade location: 0.5 blade d ianneter off the ves se I bottom — 1.5 blade diameter below the batch surfaces.
• Full holding capacity of mix vessel: About 130% of batch size to provide sufficient freeboard above the product level.Note de contenu : - How does it work ?

Corrosion microbienneIndex. décimale : 620.11 Matériaux (propriétés, résistance) Résumé : Corrosion due to microorganisms is also known as biocorrosion or Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC). There are several types of microorganisms present in environnent that cannot be seen individuatly with the unaided human eye like bacteria, archaea, fungi etc., which are responsible for corrosion of metals via electrochemical mechanism and deterioration of non-metallic materials. The biocorrosion takes place due to the fixation of bacteria, release of metabolites and formation of biofilms that induce or accelerate the corrosion process. This type of corrosion takes the most severe form in soils, saline environment and humid environment. It is estimated that about 20% of all damages caused by corrosion are influenced by microorganisms ; hence it is very important to understand the basic mechanism of microbial corrosion in order to minimize the fosses and accidents due to corrosion in various industries. This review describes the types of microorganisms which are responsible for bio corrosion and the mechanism behind this corrosion.
