Measuring the colour and appearance of pearlescent pigments in products is becoming more important as manufacturers strive to control raw material variations, processing and quality. Objectively evaluating pearlescent colour and appearance and interpreting the results, however, is a complex process. The process is further complicated by the unique optical properties and variety of applications for pearlescent pigments, as well as the availability of various color measurement instruments. This article gives brief idea of optical properties and colorimetric aspect of pearl lustre pigment. |
