Their phenomenon, composition, mechanism of intumescence are reviewed, followed by a discussion of the use of thermal analysis to investigate the mechanism of decomposition of intumescent coating. A brief review of types of fire retardant coatings is discussed. Also requirements of building regulations, char properties of intumescent coatings, evaluation and Fire Test Standards are presented. Intumescent coating systems with various types of intumes cent coatings and finally applications with off-site advantages is given. Note de contenu : - TYPES OF FIRE RETARDANT COATINGS

Titre : Nontoxic fouling release coatings : A novel approach for ecofriendly marine environnment Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Upadhya, S. C., Auteur Année de publication : 2002 Article en page(s) : p. 31-46 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : An explicit review has been made regarding non-toxic fluorinated polyurethane and silicone polyurethane fouling release coatings. An insight into the release mechanisms through which these coatings operate and the polymer properties which influence bioadhesion is discussed in detail. The formulation and synthesis of fluorinated polyurethane and silicone polyurethane coatings and the criteria required for designing effective fouling release coating is discussed.
