Tea is one of the most consumed beverages in the world and it has been popular for over 4000 years. Its popularity is attributed to the sensory properties and potential health and anti-ageing benefits. Tea was first introduced into European countries from China by Portuguese and Dutch explorers. A wide spectrum of biologically active substances present in this plant has resulted in wide application in cosmetology. At the present time, one of the most important trends in modern cosmetology is the application of active substances of natural origin. Raw materials of plant origin possess a wide spectrum of multidimensional activity and can impart many beneficial properties to the cosmetic product. The field of cosmetology is also interested in plants that have been usef for many years in traditional medicine as well as hunting for completely new raw materials. |
