It is expected that the system which has been selected on this basis of which would last 5 to 10 years in a corrosive environment. In this paper, an attempt has been made to highlight some advance accelerated testing methods which are being considered as standard test methods globally for selection of paint systems. Shipyards are clearly reviewing all technologies and seeking opportunities to improve productivity. Several key areas are directly related to shop primer technology. These are welding speed, welding quality and secondary surface preparation.
In order to improve productivity attention must be focused on reducing the build cycle and minimising rework resulating from weld quality and excessive secondary surface preparation. In addition to these productivity factors yards must also ensure that they comply with the latest legislative and environmental requirements that continue to limit the coating solutions avalaible to them.Note de contenu : - WORLD CLASS MANUFACTURING : Design Cycle - Short build cycle - Zero defects - Zero stocks
